Upon graduation from medical school, Hays completed an internship at The University of Pennsylvania and residency at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He served in the United States Air Force and afterwards finished his cardiology fellowship at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. He has published and presented papers and projects relating to cardiovascular health and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and American Heart Association where he served as president of the Mississippi Division.
"Jackson Heart Clinic is also committed to our community and believes that through education and increased awareness we can help fight the war against heart disease that so profoundly affects our state," Hays said.
Because of this strong commitment, Hays led in the founding of the Jackson Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization with the aim of promoting and safe-guarding the cardiovascular health of the community. The Hays Clinic and the foundation brought this dedication to Jackson and the rural towns of Central Mississippi.
Dr. Hays recently retired from St. Dominic's Hospital, Jackson, Mississippi and is practicing medicine with Dr. Michael Mansour, Cardiologist, Cardiovascular Physicians, Greenville, Mississippi.
